Network Engineer

We are partnering with a leading technology services organisation seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support a new corporate office network deployment within a secure Defence environment.

The role will be responsible for implementing network infrastructure, access control and wireless services using Cisco switching, Cisco Wireless, Cisco Identity Services Engine and Palo Alto firewalls. The existing Aruba ClearPass and Aruba Wireless environment will be used as a reference architecture to maintain consistent authentication, security policies and user experience across both locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Review the existing Aruba ClearPass and Aruba Wireless environment
• Analyse wireless networks, authentication methods, user roles and device onboarding processes
• Configure and deploy Cisco Identity Services Engine for authentication, authorisation and network access control
• Configure and deploy Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers and access points
• Configure Cisco wireless networks and security policies
• Configure Cisco Catalyst switching infrastructure
• Deploy Palo Alto firewall policies and supporting network services
• Implement 802.1X, RADIUS, TACACS+, NAC and role-based access controls
• Test and validate wired, wireless and network access control services
• Produce implementation plans, configuration records and as-built documentation
• Provide knowledge transfer and operational handover to internal ICT teams

Essential Experience

• Minimum five years’ enterprise network engineering experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco Catalyst switching
• Strong experience with Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers and wireless networks
• Strong experience configuring and deploying Cisco ISE
• Strong Palo Alto firewall and Strata Cloud Manager experience
• Experience with 802.1X, RADIUS, TACACS+, NAC, network segmentation and role-based access control
• Experience reviewing existing architectures and implementing equivalent solutions using alternative technologies
• Strong technical documentation and implementation planning capability

Desirable Experience

• CCNP Enterprise certification
• PCNSE certification
• Experience with Aruba ClearPass
• Experience with Aruba Wireless LAN Controllers and access points
• Experience with Azure and Azure networking
• Experience designing or deploying Cisco ISE based on existing ClearPass policies and workflows
• Experience within Defence, Government or critical infrastructure environments

Contract Details

• Based primarily in Adelaide City, with possible travel to Osborne
• Must have NV1 security clearance
• Candidates with a minimum NV1 considered
